An original 1944 dated German WW2 Verbandpäckchen (field dressing), manufactured by the well-known medical supplier W. Söhngen & Co. of Wiesbaden. Issued for use by German military personnel, these compact first aid dressings formed an essential part of every soldier’s personal medical kit and are an increasingly sought-after piece of WW2 medical equipment.

This example is particularly desirable due to its clear 1944 date, placing it firmly in the final year of the war. The original manufacturer’s markings remain crisp and legible throughout, including the Söhngen branding, article number and date, making it an excellent display piece as well as a genuine historical artefact.

The dressing remains unopened, retaining its original tied construction exactly as issued. The photographs have been carefully taken to show the contents by gently lifting the outer wrapper without undoing the original string or opening the dressing itself. As such, the original black waterproof inner wrapping and paper instructions can be seen while the field dressing remains factory tied and unopened.

Condition is excellent for an item of this age. The outer hessian wrapper is clean and complete, the original string tie is intact, and the printed paper label displays exceptionally well with only the expected light creasing from decades of storage. There are no obvious tears, significant staining or repairs, and the internal black wrapper and paper instructions remain present, making this a particularly well-preserved example.

A superb and honest late-war German WW2 medical collectible that would make an excellent addition to any Wehrmacht, medical or general German militaria collection.
