WW2 German Collection Tin (Winterhilfswerk)

Description
This is an early Winterhilfswerk “Winter Relief” collection tin which was set up by the National Socialist People’s Welfare Organization to help finance the winter months of the war. These tins were extremely well made and this one still has 98% of its original red paint remaining. The lid has openings for coins and paper money and there is also a locking latch.
The tin is nicely marked up with a serial number, a gau district and the manufacturer’s information on the bottom of the tin that tells us it was produced at the Neheim factory.
A very interesting German item from WW2.
