Description
This is a great looking German K98 bayonet featuring a mint-conditioned blade.
The light coloured wooden grips are in excellent condition showing no signs of significant wear. The crossguard, flashguard, and hilt display some minor surface rust but remain undamaged. The rifle retaining button is in good working order, and the rear of the upper pommel bears two waffenamt stamps.
The scabbard shows surface rust and is missing its throat screw, but it remains undented. A Waffenamt is present on the lower scabbard ball. The numbers on the front of the scabbard read “9708” and rear “41asw” referring to the year and maker “1941 E.&.F. Horster”.
The blade itself is absolutely mint, forms a good tip and has never been sharpened. Numbers on front of blade read “0185” and rear “43cof” referring to “1943 Carl Eickhorn”.
To complete the piece, it comes with a good condition leather frog.
