Added by : Mark Raynsford
Description
A genuine British First World War webbing bayonet frog, correctly dated 1918 and marked with the British broad arrow. Constructed in khaki webbing, this example reflects the wartime move away from leather equipment during the latter stages of the war.
Overall
An honest, used example showing period wear and service toning throughout. Stitching remains intact, with no repairs noted. A straightforward, original piece of British WWI webbing equipment.
Historical Note
Webbing bayonet frogs of this type were introduced during the First World War to accommodate Pattern 1907 bayonets, replacing earlier leather examples as part of Britain’s transition to web equipment.
