Description

These were the standard hand grenades used during both World Wars by British forces and could either be thrown, or fired from a Lee Enfield SMLE rifle if the correct cup discharger was fitted.

This one has a marking of “GAV” in a circle, it’s also got a shield close to that, and a three digit number close by too. We believe the markings on this grenade place is to be from the WW1 era – along with the condition of the metal. It’s in excellent condition, the threads on the base plate are nice and smooth and even the pin is in excellent condition.

It can be completely taken apart, and the spring on the inside has PLENTY of life in it, so if you do pull out the pin, the spoon WILL fly off.
