SKU: 0133M

Description

These M1886 bayonets were standard issue to French soldiers during WW1, who were issued the Lebel rifle.
This 1st pattern has a white metal hilt, with a quillon crossguard that is stamped with a serial number. The catch button is in working order and there are several inspection stamps to the crossguard. On these early models, we find that the hilt is fixed to the tang, later models had removable hilts.

The blade is in great condition and is the usual cruciform shape, with the scabbard being the rounded tubular shape. The scabbard is undented and does have some inspection marks.
The bayonet fits the scabbard perfectly and comes complete with a good condition leather frog and belt.
