A very nice original set of German Army officer’s dagger hanger straps. These are the standard pattern straps fitted with aluminium mounts and clips, rather than the more elaborate deluxe pattern fittings.

Even so, this is a very attractive set that displays extremely well, showing a pleasing aged tone to the material that has developed naturally over time.

Straps

The straps remain in excellent condition overall. The material is strong and intact with no fraying or structural damage.

The fabric retains a very attractive lightly toned appearance which has developed with age, giving the straps a pleasing patinated look that collectors often like to see on untouched examples.

The reverse side retains the typical ribbed, corded style backing commonly seen on these straps. There is some very minor wear visible to the reverse but nothing significant and entirely consistent with light period use.

Fittings

The aluminium fittings remain in very good condition throughout.

The buckles retain their decorative detailing and display nicely, along with the correct slides beneath the buckles which remain in place and function as they should.

The lower clips are the standard pattern rather than the deluxe decorated type, but they remain in very good condition and operate correctly.

Overall

A very nice honest set of German Army officer’s dagger hanger straps in excellent overall condition. The pleasing age tone to the straps combined with the clean aluminium fittings make these a very attractive example that would display well with any German Army dagger.
