Description

This impressive 62cm M1914 sawback bayonet was used with the M1911 carbine and issued to select troops such as engineers, horse transport soldiers and motorized artillery drivers.

The blade is in exceptional condition with no signs of use or wear. It features the maker mark, “WAFFENFABRIK NEUHAUSEN”, on the ricasso and a Swiss cross on the cross-guard and scabbard lower ball. The wooden grip plates are perfect and securely fastened with two rivets. The rifle retaining button is smooth and functional.

The straight steel scabbard is in excellent condition with no damage. marked with a “P” on the throat, indicating it was made by “Paillard & Cie”, notably, scabbard manufacturers differed from bayonet makers.

This is a very impressive bayonet in superb condition.
