Description

Offered here is a fine First World War medal group awarded to Private Albert Edward Bedford of the 7th Battalion. Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.

This grouping comes complete with an excellent set of service papers, giving an insight of Bedford’s war service.

Enlisted at Dunoon, 6th January 1915, aged 19.

Initially numbered 2621, later renumbered 300816 during the 1917 TF renumbering.

Embarked at Southampton 21st August 1915, joining his battalion in France on 26th August 1915.

Served in France throughout the war with the 7th Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.

Granted Leave in January 1918.

Disembodied on 10th March 1919, aged 23, with no disability claimed.

Permanent address recorded as “Runnnellie, Hill Street, Dunoon.”

The medals remain in in very good condition with an attractive patina and original naming. An excellent addition for any WW1 or Highland regiment collection.
