These Austro-Hungarian Trench Knives were produced for the ordinary soldiers and carried throughout WW1. The long wooden grips are secured with three steel pins and there is a government inspection stamp to the top cross guard.

The blade is double edged and has the letter “R” stamped at the ricasso. It has also been sharpened and therefore has lost its point. The steel scabbard has been covered in brown leather, and you can clearly see by the ageing its been done period. This is something I’ve never come across before and makes is very unusual.

The knife fits the scabbard perfectly with a nice tight fit.
