Description

Here we have a very nice example of a WW1 German trench fighting knife in its original scabbard.
During the start of WW1 the German army issued a number of Kampfmesser (combat knives) to their soldiers as standard equipment to be used as weapons and other purposes.

Here we are offering a fine example of a WW1 German trench fighting knife in its original scabbard.
The wooden grips are in excellent condition, showing no signs of damage and secured with three dome head rivets. The blade is in particularly good condition for a trench knife and is double maker marked and proof stamped.
The scabbard is undented and still retains a significant portion of its original black paint. The original leather belt loop and popper stud are still attatched and in working order. The leather does show wear and a very small tab of leather missing by the popper stud, but overall we have a great little trench knife with an excellent blade.
