WW1 German Trench Knife

Description
This close combat knife was a standard commercial hunting knife that found its way into the trenches along side hundreds of other similar pattern knives. This is an interesting example with a carved wooden grip, made to resemble a stag horn style grip, with a metal pommel cap, ferrule and “S” shaped cross guard. Good condition blade forming into a nice point with the making reading ED. WUSTOF SOLINGEN.
The metal scabbard is undented and straight with the leather being intact but unfortunately missing the popper stud. Some collectors choose to have this repaired.
Overall a very decent trench knife.
