Private purchase WW1 German KS98 sawback bayonet.

These German KS98 sawback bayonets have always been popular among bayonet collectors, therefore becoming harder to find. This is an early example by maker W.K&C. with the double head makers mark.

The hilt and cross guard show age but not pitting. The chequered grips are held in place by three pin rivets that are present. The front grip has a crack running half way up the grip, this seems to be common with these grips. The scabbard shows some indentations, more so to the sides of the scabbard , but overall it is still in decent shape.

Blade is clean and nice and bright. It has kept its tip and the teeth are in good shape.
