Description

Made by T.E. Bladon & Son Ltd, these WW2 blackout oil lamps were originally issues to artillery crews for night-time sighting. Often marked W/I\\D and dated 1942, they used either candles or oil as fuel and could be mounted, or handheld.

This one is interesting because it’s VERY faintly dated 1941, making it an early model. Sadly, the markings are extremely faint, but they are there (see photos). Featuring a blackout cover, vent holes at the top, a handle at the back with mounting screw hole, a base and also a removable bay at the bottom. Not only does it feature it’s original twist cap but also, the original spring AND candle cup.

It has a few dings and chips here and there, but being an early model more than makes up for this, even more so when you consider its cap is still removable and hasn’t seized, and the original spring and candle cap is also present. Overall, in good condition.
