Description
Original WW2 British Army Drivers M.T. Notes sleeve, dated 1943 and marked with the War Department broad arrow. The front is clearly printed “61932 Drivers M.T. Notes”, identifying it as a wartime Motor Transport related item intended for use with driver notes, instructions or paperwork.
This is a practical piece of British Army vehicle equipment rather than a standard booklet. The sleeve is made with a stiff backing board, clear front viewing panel, metal retaining strips and a green waterproofed cloth-style cover, allowing notes to be protected while still remaining visible and accessible. It would have been well suited to vehicle, workshop, transport or driver use, where paperwork needed to survive regular handling, dirt, damp and general service conditions.
Motor Transport was an essential part of the wartime British Army, covering the movement of men, supplies, equipment and vehicles across training, operational and support roles. Small surviving pieces like this help show the everyday administrative and practical side of wartime transport work, making it a good addition to a WW2 British Army, RASC, REME, vehicle equipment, military paperwork or driver-related collection.
The sleeve remains in good original condition for its age, with the 1943 date, broad arrow and printed text still clearly visible. There is age-related wear to the board edges, metal fittings and green cover, along with surface marks, staining and signs of service/storage, but the piece remains complete, displayable and full of character. The clear movable plastic screen is also in very good condition, with no dog-eared or bent corners.
