Description
An original WW2 British ARP first aid pouch complete with two unopened “Mines Type” sterilised first aid dressings, representing a particularly well-preserved piece of British Home Front medical equipment.
The pouch is constructed from khaki fabric and retains its original white securing cord. Inside are two original sterilised dressings, both of which remain unopened in their printed wrappers. The survival of the dressings still sealed is a particularly nice feature, as these were practical consumable items intended for emergency use rather than long-term retention.
Equipment of this type formed part of the wider Air Raid Precautions and Civil Defence effort during WW2, providing readily accessible first aid supplies for use during air raids, industrial incidents and other wartime emergencies. Complete examples retaining their original contents are increasingly difficult to find, particularly when the dressings themselves have not been opened.
Overall in very good original condition. The pouch remains clean and well preserved, with only some minor staining visible to the white securing cord. Both sterilised dressing packets remain unopened and appear very well preserved. Please refer to the photographs for the overall condition and detail.
