WW2 British Fire Guard Helmet
SKU:
Added by : Mark Raynsford
Description
The Fire Guard was made up of both men and women, all volunteers. There was no official uniform and most just wore civilian clothes. However, they would be issued with a helmet, an armband, torch and a means of dealing with small fires.
This Fire Guard steel helmet with original liner still has most of its white paint covering it, though some has come off through the years. Chin strap missing. The liner also has a VERY faint marking on it. The “FG” on the front of the helmet however is still in good condition and clearly visible but, it has begun to crack.
