Description

The “Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volks” (winter relief of the German people) was an annual donation drive organized by the National Socialist People’s Welfare, aimed at supporting the German people and freeing up money for rearmament during WW2.

Unlike the standard red, round collection tins commonly found, this piece stands out with its square shape and a simpler internal mechanism, suggesting it could be an earlier design. The tin is in very good condition, showing no dents or damage. The lid opens and closes as it should.

A great piece of WW2 social history.
