WW2 German Early SA Dagger (rare maker)

Description
Here we have an early S.A. dagger that clearly hasn’t been cleaned for many years and has therefore developed a deep patina yellow nicotine colour.
The blade does show staining in places but we can also see the blade still shows light cross grain running the full length of both sides of the blade. The blade is unsharpened which forms into a good tip. The maker is Gust Weyersberg, this is a very hard maker to find and a number 8 on the McSarr SA chart. The McSarr chart is a used by many collectors to give them a reference to the rarity of makers.
The enamel S.A. rune is in excellent condition and the nickle eagle is fitted nicely to the centre grip and shows great detailing. The wooden grip shows four cracks, two towards the lower cross guard and two at the top cross guard by the rune. I don’t think the crack will get any worse but probably best not to take this one apart.
The scabbard is undented and still has some lacquer remaining but there is also some surface rust. The solid nickel scabbard fittings show the same age and colouring to the dagger fittings, which is something all collectors like to see. All screws are present and in good condition. The ball to the lower fitting has taken a hit and lost its shape on one side more than the other.
