Description
Here we have a good condition K98 bayonet complete with leather frog.
The blade is particularly nice with 90% of the blueing remaining and has never been sharpened. The number on the blade is “9661”and on the rear of the blade it reads “clc 1942” this tells us the maker is “Richard Abr Herder”.
The bakelite grip plates are in excellent condition and held in place by two screw bolts.
The rifle retaining button is in full working order and there are two waffen amt stamps to the rear of the upper pommel. The cross guard, hilt and flashguard are all in great condition showing no damage.
The scabbard is numbered “3063” and has been painted black at some stage, which still shows 95% of the paint remaining.
The bayonet fits the scabbard perfectly and comes complete with a leather frog and retaining strap. The frog does show wear but is still strong and shows no damaged.
