WW2 German K98 Bayonet Frog – 1940 Dated – F.R. Offermann Söhne, Bensberg

SKU: 0412M

Added by : Mark Raynsford

Description

A solid and honest example of a WWII German K98 bayonet frog, clearly maker marked and dated 1940.

The reverse retains a well-struck stamp for F.R. Offermann Söhne, Bensberg, with the 1940 date visible beneath. Maker-marked examples are always desirable, as the majority of frogs have seen the markings worn away through service use and age.

Frog

The frog remains in good, strong condition with a well-retained shape and structure. The leather shows honest wear and age, but remains supple.

Approximately 90% of the stitching is intact and tight, with only a small section missing to the front centre. This does not affect the overall integrity, and the frog remains structurally sound.

All four rivets are present, and the upper fastening tab is intact and in excellent condition — a feature often found broken or missing.

Overall

A good, honest, and clearly marked wartime example with strong structure and desirable maker detail. A solid companion piece for a K98 bayonet.
