SKU: 0447M

Added by : Mark Raynsford

Description

An original World War 2 German K98 bayonet frog in very good service-used condition. It has retained its shape exceptionally well and would definitely embellish a good German K98 bayonet.

Leather

The leather is strong and supple, retaining an excellent shape throughout. All original stitching is present and secure, with no loose seams visible. The original four steel rivets remain firmly in place, and the lug retention section has retained its form very well.

Overall Condition

A very tidy, honest wartime example showing expected service wear while remaining in excellent collector’s condition. An ideal addition to complete an original World War II German K98 bayonet.

Recommended Reference

For collectors wishing to study German bayonet frogs in greater detail, I highly recommend A Collector’s Guide to German Bayonet Belt Frogs 1825–1945 by Roy Williams. It is an outstanding reference containing excellent photographs, detailed information on wartime makers, dates and construction variations. It is an essential book for anyone collecting German bayonets and their associated leather accoutrements.
