WW2 German K98 Bayonet (Matching Numbers)

SKU: 0031M

Added by : Mark Raynsford

Description

An excellent condition, unsharpened blade with all blueing remaining. Numbered “2245” and dated 39 on the spine of the blade. Maker is “Mundlos”.

A nice dark coloured Bakelite grips in good condition with a double Waffen amt stamped to the rear upper pommel. The flash guard is also in a good undamaged condition and the spring loaded rifle retaining button is in good working order which is also numbered “2245”, this is a nice bonus as we don’t see this part numbered on all K98 bayonets.

The scabbard is undented and nice and straight with a Waffen amt stamp to the lower ball. The screw to the upper scabbard is missing, these can be easily replaced if the next owner decides to do so.

The bayonet comes with an excellent condition original leather frog with all stitching intact including the four rivets.

This bayonet has to a nice even tone throughout.
