Description
This K98 bayonet has 95% of its original blueing still remaining and is in excellent condition. The dark brown bakelite grips are in superb condition and held in place with two screw bolts.
The rifle retaining button is in good working order and is waffen amt stamped. There is also two more waffen amt stamps to the rear of the upper pommel.
The scabbard is undamaged and nice and straight. The front of the scabbard is numbered 9030, which is the same numbers we see on the blade. The back is dated 1940 and marker marked Cof. This tells us it was made from the Carl Eickhorn factory. The Eickhorn factory produced large numbers of bayonets and dress daggers during WW2.
The blade has its full blueing and is also marker marked and dated 40 on the spine of the blade. If it wasn’t for the blade being sharpened, I would of rated it to be in mint condition.
