Description

This is a matching-numbered German K98 bayonet featuring an unsharpened blade with most of the original blueing remaining on both the blade and scabbard. The blade shows some light staining in areas but overall is still in very good condition. The front of the blade is numbered “268” with the rear displaying the maker mark “E.u.F.Horster” and the spine dated 1940.

The dark coloured bakelite grips are in superb condition, with no signs of damage. The cross guard, flash guard and hilt are also in good condition, with the rifle retaining button being fully functional.
The scabbard shows some light service wear but overall still maintaining overall good condition. The scabbard has matching numbers and maker mark as the blade and is also dated 1940.
The frog is a real nice one with all rivets and stitching intact showing no signs of rips or tears around the frog stud, a spot where wear is commonly seen.

This is a K98 that has had seen some light service wear but overall still remains in very nice condition.
