Description

Here we have a WW2 German K98 bayonet with 99% of the blueing remaining on all fittings, including the blade.
The blade has never been sharpened and is in near mint condition, a stunning blade. Maker on the blade reads “DURKOPP” and is dated “38” on the spine of the blade. Numbers on the front side of the blade read “5909”.
The dark brown bakelite grips are in excellent condition and held in place with two screw bolts. The rifle retaining button is waffen stamped and in good working order with another two waffen amt stamps to the rear upper pommel.
The scabbard is in very good condition but there are a couple of very minor indentations to to rear side. The numbers above the frog stud read “2217”, which do not match the numbers on the blade but the rear of the scabbard is maker marked “DURKOPP” and dated “38”. which does match the same maker and date on the blade.
A very nice K98 Bayonet.
