Description

Some dagger collectors prefer clean, minty examples, while others appreciate the character shown by a dagger that exhibits signs of service use, and wear.

Here we have an untouched Kriegsmarine officer’s dagger that hasn’t been cleaned for decades, resulting in a beautiful patina. One side of the dagger shows more wear than the other, indicating it has been stored in the same position for many years without being moved. Personally, I find this adds to the item’s story and character.

The blade is in decent condition, featuring the standard etched design by the renowned manufacturer “WKC.” The white celluloid grip retains its original wire wrap and knot, tied in the correct fashion. The scabbard’s bands are highly decorative, showcasing great detail. There is a small dent about two inches above the lower scabbard ball.

The original hangers are matching and exhibit some wear, with a tear on one hanger and a small section of the clip missing. Despite these issues, I would still rate the hangers as being in good condition.

This is an excellent example of an untouched dagger that has always remained together.
