WW2 German SA Three piece Hanger with Nickle Fittings
SKU: 0350M
Added by : Mark Raynsford
Description
Original WWII-period German SA dagger three-piece hanger, complete with early-style nickel fittings and the desirable longer “crocodile nose” clip. This is the correct pattern used to suspend the SA dress dagger in the vertical position. A solid, honest example showing genuine service wear but remaining in very good overall condition.
Leather & Construction
The leather remains sound throughout with no rips or tears, just light honest wear, but overall in very good condition. The belt loop retains its correct D-ring fitting, allowing proper attachment to the SA belt. The press stud fastener is strong and secure.
Clip & Hardware
Fitted with an early full-nickel oval buckle and clip — often referred to by collectors as the “crocodile nose” style due to its longer, tapered profile compared to later examples. The internal spring works exactly as it should.
Overall
A very well-preserved early-pattern SA dagger hanger that would finish off any quality SA dress dagger perfectly. It shows genuine age and use without abuse — no damage, no repairs, just an honest example that still presents extremely well.
Historical Note
The Sturmabteilung (SA) dagger, introduced in the early 1930s, became one of the most recognisable political edged weapons of the Third Reich. Suspended from the belt by a three-piece hanger, the dagger was worn vertically during parades and formal occasions, reinforcing the disciplined image the SA sought to project. Early hangers like this example, with nickel fittings and the longer clip, reflect the higher-quality manufacture typical of the pre- and early-war period before material economies took hold.
