Description
WW2 German Tropical Bayonet Frog.
This bayonet frog was used during WW2 by the German Africa Korps (DAK), the expeditionary force deployed in North Africa. The DAK utilised a variety of field webbing equipment, including multiple styles and colours of belt frogs to suit different conditions. These bayonet frogs were produced in colours ranging from sand, light khaki, and light brown to darker shades like green and olive drab.
This particular example is in excellent condition, representing the light coloured variant that would of been paired with the k98 bayonet. The frog still holds its shape well, with all stitching intact. The hilt strap features the early correct steel stud and heavily overstitched edges, characteristic of wartime production.
A fine and collectable example.
