Description
WW2 US Legitimus Machete.
This WW2 machete was issued to U.S. troops during WW2 and was commonly used in jungle environments, particularly the pacific.
The blade remains bright and is in very good condition. It was manufactured by “Collins & Co”, one of the premier producers of edged tools at the time, known for crafting machetes, axes, and bowie knives. The blade is clearly marked with the model number “1250” and the date “1944”.
The grips are undamaged and in excellent condition, held securely in place by the original four rivets.
The brown leather scabbard is in very good condition, retaining its stitching, rivets, and securing strap. The rear of the scabbard is maker marked and dated “1942”.
This is a nice example, which I personally feel gives a lot of knife for the money.
