A very respectable and honest set of German Army Officer dagger hanging straps, manufactured in the 1930s and worn throughout the Second World War. This is a full-length set measuring approximately 10½ inches, which is correct for standard suspension. Many examples were shortened over time depending on the height of the officer, so finding an uncut full-length pair is always preferable.

These are the more decorative “deluxe” pattern hangers, featuring detailed oakleaf fittings and matching hardware throughout, rather than the plainer field examples sometimes encountered.

Straps
The silver brocade remains strong with good definition to the twin raised outer lines and central chevron weave. There is honest age wear present, as expected, but the fabric retains its shape, and displays well. The green felt backing is in very good condition and correct for army officer straps.

Fittings
All fittings display the deluxe oakleaf motif, including the oval buckles and lower clips, giving the set a higher-grade appearance.

Both lower spring-loaded clips are DRGM marked (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster – German registered design).

The upper square fitting has a  kink to one corner where the metal has been pushed back. It is not particularly noticeable and would likely not be seen once mounted on a dagger and belt. (see photos).

Overall
A very good, full-length deluxe set of WWII German Army Officer dagger hangers with matching decorative fittings and DRGM marked clips. Honest wear, strong brocade, and ideal to complete a quality Army officer’s dagger.
