Description

Ypres is a historic town in West Flanders, Belgium. It was the site of some of the most intense battles in WW1 and remains a major centre for remembrance and military history.

This book, is actually a collection of postcards, separated by a tracing paper style cover for each one. Obviously, all the postcards are in black and white and not a single one has been perforated and/ or torn out. All postcards are present, in excellent condition given their age and aside from some minor spotting/ staining on the cover and general age, it’s in fantastic condition.

These sites can even be viewed on Google Earth. This gives you an example of how important these cemeteries and war memorials are to people as they have been VERY well looked after. The postcards themselves are not dated, however, looking them up in Google Earth provides you with a nice clear image of them and many are dated. Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery for example is clearly dated 1914 – 1920. Finding historical pictures of these places can be a challenge. This collection of postcards has those historical pictures for you.
