WW2 Early German SA Dagger

Description

A nice early example of an erased Rohm S.A. dagger.

The wooden grips have a nice light wood colour, this is common to see with this maker. The grips are undamaged and fit the nickle cross guards very well. Nice defined nickle eagle is superbly recessed to the middle grip. The enamel SA rune still retains all its enamel and is centered under the top cross guard.

Both cross guards are evenly aged and the rear bottom one is gau marked (No), for (Nordsee).

The blade is nice and bright and does still show some fine cross grain remaining. The back of the blade is a factory erased Rohm, which means it was sent back to the factory to have the Ernst Rohm inscription removed.

We are fortunate with this example because most of the maker mark still can be seen. A lot of factory erased Rohm daggers have had the markers mark removed.

Scabbard has matching nickle fittings and all screws are present. The scabbard and lower ball have taken a hit but luckily not enough to impact the overall look of the dagger.

A very decent S.A.
