  • This specific German 3D photo book, is INCREDIBLY rare now. Titled, “Hitler & Mussolini Staatsbesuch des Führers in Italien”, it documents Hitler’s state visit to Italy, featuring Mussolini too. These 3D photo books are hard to find now and this particular book is such a pleasure to own. Published in 1938, a few months after the state visit, this book is in very good condition. These books are typically issued with 100 photographs, that you use combined with the viewer included, to get a real feeling and sense of history. This book, has ALL 100 photos, each one numbered, in perfect condition and has a description on the back. The first 24 have been mounted in the book, and the others which are all in order, are included loose. For your viewing pleasure. There are some incredible photos included in this book, some of the most notable are: No.2; A Swastika, next to a fascist symbol No.33; Mussolini and Hitler walking together in a display of unity No.38; Italian chain daggers can clearly be seen on soldiers No.39; Hitler & Mussolini in a car, together. No.98; Hitler, Himmler & Mussolini – clearly, an Italian fascist dagger can be seen on Himmler’s belt, presented to him, by Mussolini. Included with this book, is a certificate. From the legal office for the promotion of German writing. It documents what this book actually is. It’s also an indication that this book doesn’t hurt Germany and it can be published as it’s been checked. All too often, these get thrown away by collectors who don’t know what they are. It’s also dated 8 Juni (June) 1938 which is the same date as the printed publication date on the inside. Additionally, the viewer is included. In perfect working order and clearly marked with “Raumbild-Verlag” as all of these viewers are. The hinges work perfectly and don’t stick. Also included is an advert sheet and while it’s not of historical importance it’s lovely that it comes with it and hasn’t been lost through the years. As stated, these 3D photo books are getting harder to find, but this one in particular is very, very rare indeed which is reflected in the price. Some people have the slightly more common ones in their collections but even trying to find out information on this book is hard because of how rare it is. It also has some photos of Hitler that are considered rare too because of their styling, and to see him documented and photographed with Mussolini is a treat for any collector.
  • This Bestway War Knitting magazine, issue No 68, has patterns for vests, socks, gloves and other garments. During the 40’s, it only cost 6 pence. Imagine that. The patterns included in this magazine are now popular amount the vintage knitting crowd, but during wartime, this sort of magazine was useful and part of the ‘mend-and-make-do’ mentality that was pushed. It is very worn, which is reflected in the price. The bottom staple holding the pages has gone (though rusted, the top one is still there), but all pages are here. The paper itself even ‘feels’ old to touch. Despite the spine of this magazine missing its staples, the pages inside are actually in good condition. All too often people like to make their own notes by writing directly on the pages but this one has none of that.
  • WW2 German RAD Clothing Whip. This whip was used by members of the (Reichsarbeitsdienst) RAD for dusting down blankets, clothing and other equipment. It features a 1ft lathed wooden handle with a leather strap securing six leather stings in place. It is common to find these whips with missing stings; however, this example retains all six, though one has snapped off, shortening its length. A very interesting item that doesn't turn up very often. You can find historical photographs of these whips in use by RAD members online.

  • WW1 British Medal Trio. Name: PTE J.W. Rigby Reg No: 1806 Regiment: 1st Bn Gloucestershire Regiment Medals: 1914 Star & Clasp. Defence Medal. Victory Medal. Pte. J.W. Rigby was wounded in the First World War and later sustained injuries from shrapnel in 1940 while standing in Alvin street, Gloucester, during the battle of Britain. At the time he was watching a dogfight unfold in the skies above the city. The Rigby family was well known in Gloucester, running a fish stall in Eastgate Market for over 50 years. His Sons Alec, John, and Edwin continued the family's legacy while also serving in the armed forces during World War 2. The three medals show a nice aged patina, and interesting story.

  • WW2 Blackout Oil Lamp

    £70.00 SKU: 0071A
Made by T.E. Bladon & Son Ltd, these WW2 blackout oil lamps were originally issues to artillery crews for night-time sighting. Often marked W/I\\D and dated 1942, they used either candles or oil as fuel and could be mounted, or handheld. This one is interesting because it’s VERY faintly dated 1941, making it an early model. Sadly, the markings are extremely faint, but they are there (see photos). Featuring a blackout cover, vent holes at the top, a handle at the back with mounting screw hole, a base and also a removable bay at the bottom. Not only does it feature it’s original twist cap but also, the original spring AND candle cup. It has a few dings and chips here and there, but being an early model more than makes up for this, even more so when you consider its cap is still removable and hasn’t seized, and the original spring and candle cap is also present. Overall, in good condition.
  • WW2 German Tropical Bayonet Frog. This bayonet frog was used during WW2 by the German Africa Korps (DAK), the expeditionary force deployed in North Africa. The DAK utilised a variety of field webbing equipment, including multiple styles and colours of belt frogs to suit different conditions. These bayonet frogs were produced in colours ranging from sand, light khaki, and light brown to darker shades like green and olive drab. This particular example is in excellent condition, representing the light coloured variant that would of been paired with the k98 bayonet. The frog still holds its shape well, with all stitching intact. The hilt strap features the early correct steel stud and heavily overstitched edges, characteristic of wartime production. A fine and collectable example.
