  • Hughes Medal Pack

    £155.00 SKU: 0028A
Medal pack for Percy J Hughes, and Fred Hughes. Both have military dates of; 1914 – 1920. Percy, was in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Regiment, and Fred was in the Royal Engineers. Included, is some information about both men, as well as scans from military documents. These packs are excellent for those interested in the research side of family and military history, and included are their medals. There’s no damage to the medals, and the ribbons are also in excellent condition. They have been well preserved and make excellent pieces to research, or make an excellent addition to an already existing collection.
  • The mothers cross was instituted by Adolf Hitler on the 16th December 1938 as a propaganda tool to encourage large families and celebrate motherhood in accordance with the Nazi ideology of promoting Aryan heritage. This example is the miniature mothers cross in gold, which is a smaller replica of the full-sized decoration. It is the shape of a cross with blue enamel and white boarders, featuring a swastika in the centre with the inscription "Der deutschen Mutter" (To the German Mother). On the reverse it reads, "16 December 1938" and signed Adolf Hitler. The condition of this example is superb, retaining 100% of the gold plating, with all enamel intact and complete with original ribbon and pin. To finish this item off it comes in its original box, which is maker marked on the inside lid "LDO". These box's are rare and hard to come by. An excellent example.
  • WW2 RAD Long Service Award

    £85.00 SKU: 0138M
The RAD long service medal in bronze was awarded for four years service in the RAD, (National Labour service). This is an early bronze medal, which is rather heavy compared to later examples. The logo on the front is a swastika in a spade above barley ears, indicating it was for male members. Female members of the RAD were issued the same medal but with out the spade being present on the medal. The reverse side is embossed with "Fur treue Dienste im Reichs Arbeits-dienst" (For Loyal Service in the National Labour service). The medal appears to have never been cleaned, which many collectors will appreciate, and it comes with its original blue ribbon.
  • The faithful service medal was introduced in 1938 to honor loyal civilian service to the German people. Available in two classes, this particular example is the first-class gold cross, awarded for forty years in the public sector (civil servants, post office staff, railway personnel and others). This gold cross award is complete with its original blue ribbon and comes in its original presentation case. The forty year presentation case is a more prestigious case and stands out from the second class twenty-five year award. It features a hinged design lid and metal spring release button for opening. The inside lid of the case is maker marked "Deschler & Sohn Munchen" and does show some wear but the medal is in superb condition with 100% of the gold finish remaining. A nice full set.
  • The faithful service decoration was introduced in 1938 to honor loyal civilian service to the German people. Available in two classes, this particular example is the second-class silver cross, awarded for twenty-five years of service in the public sector (civil servants, post office staff, railway personnel and others). This award is complete with its original blue ribbon and comes in a presentation case covered in red leatherette and red felt interior. The inside lid is marked "WACHTLER & LANGE, MITTWEIDA". Both the award and box are in very good condition, exhibiting only minor wear.
  • This RAD belt buckle is in excellent untouched condition, displaying fine details as to be expected. It was used by enlisted men and NCOs of the Reichsarbeitsdienst "RAD". The buckle is crafted from aluminum, with the front being 90% stippled. The reverse side is unmarked, this is not unusual to find as not all manufacturers stamped their items. The brown leather tab is attached to the buckle and is the correct colour for the RAD. It is in good strong condition with all its stitching intact. The leather bears a faint maker's mark and date within an oval stamp. Though only the year "37" and some of the maker's name is visible. A very nice uncleaned example.
  • These M1886 bayonets were standard issue to French soldiers during WW1, who were issued the Lebel rifle. This 1st pattern has a white metal hilt, with a quillon crossguard that is stamped with a serial number. The catch button is in working order and there are several inspection stamps to the crossguard. On these early models, we find that the hilt is fixed to the tang, later models had removable hilts. The blade is in great condition and is the usual cruciform shape, with the scabbard being the rounded tubular shape. The scabbard is undented and does have some inspection marks. The bayonet fits the scabbard perfectly and comes complete with a good condition leather frog and belt.
  • Here we have a WW1 Imperial German Iron Cross 2nd Cross. This Iron Cross does show some minor wear, but is still in good condition and has not been cleaned for many years, therefor the metal has developed a nice patina. The Iron Cross was a military decoration in the Kingdom of Prussia, and later in the German Empire (1871-1918). It was awarded to soldiers of the Imperial German Army, Navy, and Air Force for acts of bravery, leadership, or military service in battle.
