  • The Eastern Front award was the medal for the winter battle in the east 1941-2 and was presented to all those who saw active service on the Eastern Front between 15 November and 15 April.

This example is in very good condition has it has not been worn and comes with its ribbon and original paper issue packet. Great to see this item complete and how it would have originally been presented in 1941.
  • WW2 Evacuee Girl Figurine

    £75.00 SKU: 0016A

This is a small figurine of someone in the process of evacuation, sat on some kind of period holdall. Complete with gas mask, suitcase, and a teddy for comfort. I believe it to be hand made as on the back, fingerprints can be seen in the clay before it was painted.

The suitcase has a tag with “No 417 Jade Lee”, as does the holdall. It’s also been stamped with “Cresswell”. The pose she’s in suggests the concept of evacuation isn’t something that’s new to her. A great mantle piece.

  • WW2 Gas Rattle with Shroud

    £85.00 SKU: 0015A

During World War 2, gas rattles were essential items used by the British civil defence forces to warn of gas attacks. These devices were part of the broader air raid precautions (ARP) efforts to protect civilians from chemical warfare.

This one here has been fitted with a metal shroud, painted green and attached with four flat head screws to act as a crude sort of amplifier. The rest is made from a strong wood. Not only does it work as it should, it’s in excellent condition. All fasteners (screws, pins and bolts) are present and none are loose. While variations of these rattles do exist, the ones with the metal shrouds are rarer.

  • This is an early Winterhilfswerk “Winter Relief” collection tin which was set up by the National Socialist People’s Welfare Organization to help finance the winter months of the war. These tins were extremely well made and this one still has 98% of its original red paint remaining.  The lid has openings for coins and paper money and there is also a locking latch.

The tin is nicely marked up with a serial number, a gau district and the manufacturer’s information on the bottom of the tin that tells us it was produced at the Neheim factory.

A very interesting German item from WW2.

  • This is a WW2 RAF issued Heliograph in its original case.

This is the less common larger 4-inch square mirror as opposed to the smaller variation we mostly find. The mirror and instructions are in excellent condition including the wand. By far the best one I’ve come across. The pouch is also in great condition with all its original cord and string in place. A very interesting item.

  • WW2 RAF Dinghy Bellows

    £35.00 SKU: 0085M

A well marked and fully functional RAF Dinghy inflator, (Bellows). They were carried in the C type Dinghy pack and some were even remarked and used post war. This one could probably do with a light wipe over as we can see its rather dusty but apart from that it shows no signs of damaged and still works well.

  • WW2 German Medical Pouch

    £135.00 SKU: 0082M

This is a very nice WW2 German medic's pouch, which is dated 1940 and has been waffenamt stamped. There is the letter “S” stamped on the front of the lid, this means “Saniter” (medic).

There is also the letter “R” stamped under the buckle, this indicates it to be worn on the right side. And lastly there are three initials, “dla”, this would indicate the maker but unfortunately

I haven’t been able to identify the makers name, as I haven’t come across these initials before. The leather shows some wear and age but no damage and is still very strong and supple. There are two contents that come with the pouch. Nice item.

  • The scabbard to this German 84/98 bayonet has been painted and still has 95% of the black paint remaining.  There is a faint indentation to the rear of the scabbard but not something the eye is drawn to and I don’t think it detracts from the bayonet overall.

The rifle retaining button is in good working order and there is an inspection stamp to the rear of the top pommel. The wooden grips show some light wear but are still in good condition and are held to the tang by two screw bolts.

The sawback blade is clean and in good condition with an inspection stamp to the spine of the blade. The maker on the ricasso reads Deutshe Mashinenfabrik A.G. DUISBURG.

Sawback bayonets are not easy to come across, especially with clean blades.

This is a nice example of the 84/98 bayonet.
